Sun Protection
Natural sunscreen for all skin types by Caudalie
Did you know that sun protection is a practical part of the skincare routine that helps protect the skin from the harmful effects of the environment? It is essential to protect the skin from the sun's UV rays, which are very harmful to one's skin. Fortunately, Caudalie as a brand identified this as a problem and came up with a practical solution, like sunscreen for all skin types. This has not only helped combat this problem but has also left people with smooth skin and has helped keep the environment clean. This can be seen through Caudalie's skincare being paraben-free. Caudalie also strives to protect the skin, and below is an explanation of how this is achieved.
Which SPF is best for sun protection?
SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor, defined as a measure of how well a sunscreen can protect an individual from the sun's harmful UV rays. The rays are the leading cause of sunburns and other forms of damage to the skin. Since there are two types of UV rays, namely UVA and UVB, the SPF measure only applies to UVB rays. The various types of SPF are SPF 15, SPF 30, SPF 50, and SPF 100. SPF 15 blocks ninety-three percent of the sun's UVB rays. SPF 30 on blocks ninety-seven percent of the sun's rays. SPF 50 blocks ninety-eight percent of the sun's UVB rays from reaching the skin. SPF 100 blocks ninety-nine percent of the sun's UVB rays from reaching the skin. This information makes it easier to know which SPF content in a sunscreen is good for your skin. Judging from the figures, SPF 100 has proven to be the best, followed by SPF 50 for sun-protection.
How long does sun protection last?
Before knowing how long sun-protection sunscreen lasts on your skin, you need to understand a few dynamics of the sun's rays. There are basically two types of rays: UVA and UVB. UVA rays penetrate the deeper layers of the skin. In comparison, UVB rays penetrate not only the more profound layers but also the top layers of the skin. UVA rays don't vary in intensity at any given time of the day or year. They also can penetrate the clouds. On the other hand, UVB rays vary in intensity during the day and at any time of the year. As stated in the previous statements, a higher form of SPF sunscreen is better at blocking a higher percentage of the sun's rays from reaching the skin. However, this does not translate to the higher percentage of SPF as being the longer lasting on the skin. It is, therefore, advisable to reapply the body sunscreen after approximately two hours.
