All Caudalie skincare products are created in France, at the heart of our Natural Formulation Laboratory, and comply with a very strict charter called Cosm-ethics: controversial ingredients are removed, while guaranteeing optimum efficacy and sensoriality.

Clean formulas
Just because a formula is highly natural, it doesn’t necessarily always make it clean for the skin and for the planet, our formulas scrupulously follow a formulation charter called the No-List, which bans ingredients we consider undesirable.
This means not using ingredients suspected of interfering with the hormonal system and avoiding irritants.
And for the planet?
This means giving preference to highly biodegradable ingredients and which do not come from animals, nor petrochemistry.

Why were they removed from formulas?
Because they are preservatives designed to eliminate and limit the growth of microorganisms, and can therefore be harsh on the skin.
What are they replaced with?
With sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate, which are obtained synthetically and used as food additives, making them edible. They are accepted in organic cosmetics under the Cosmos standard.
Why were they removed from formulas?
Inexpensive, entirely synthetic, and derived from petrochemicals, they offer no benefit to the skin.
What are they replaced with?
With plant oils, which have better affinity with the skin and are extracted using gentler methods.
Why were they removed from formulas?
Valued for their emollient and moisturizing properties as well as their low cost, these ingredients require animals to be killed specifically for cosmetic purposes.
What are they replaced with?
With natural ingredients derived from the plant kingdom, such as plants and minerals.
